Knightsbrook Men’s Golf Club hopes to run a Spring League from the beginning of January until the end of February 2020. It will be organised on a team basis if a sufficient number of members subscribe to the format proposed. Entrants will be divided into 4 groups, based on handicaps. Following an open draw in the clubhouse, each team will consist of a member drawn randomly from each group. The teams will then be posted on the noticeboard. Scoring will be based on the 3 best individual scores recorded by each team playing on either Saturday or Sunday. Only one score per team member is allowed over each weekend. If either Saturday or Sunday is cancelled due to inclement weather, the competition for that weekend will not count. Potentially, there are 9-weekend competitions
available in this period and 3 scores will count for each valid weekend. Full rules and
conditions will be posted at a later date. A minimum of 40 names is required if the competition is to be team-based. All entry fees of €10 must be received no later than Sunday the 12th January.
Should 40 members not enter for the team-based league, the alternative will be to run another singles competition over 8 weekends with the best 6-weekend scores to count similar to the winter league competition.
