The big day is almost here! Our Captains Day and Night takes place this coming Saturday, and with the weather looking favourable, we’re set for a fantastic day of golf, celebration, camaraderie, and entertainment. Here’s what you can look forward to on Saturday:
Golf:
Golf starting from 7am with the leading 3-Ball going out in reverse order. Best of luck to all players teeing off on the day – especially those who are in contention for the big prize.
Captains Day Prizes – Men’s Club: Captain’s Day Winner Overall, Runner-Up, Best Gross, 3rd Place, Cat. 1 – 1st and 2nd,
· Cat. 2 – 1st and 2nd, Cat. 3 – 1st and 2nd.
· Past Captains’ Prize, Men’s Captain’s Prize to the Ladies, Nearest the Blue Line (12th), Nearest the Pin (18th)
· Visitors’ Prize, Best Score Prizes on the day up for grabs — so every player is in with a chance!
· Lady Captain’s Prize to the Men, Nearest the Pins (3rd and 18th), Nearest the Blue Line (12th)
Leaderboard Betting Odds
This year, you can bet on your favourite player to win the Captain’s Prize. The Betting Board will be displayed in the Golf Shop where you sign in, showing the odds on the leaderboard this year. You can bet between €1 and €10 and all you need to do is put your bet in the envelope provided with your players name and including your name. Winner(s) will be paid on the night and any proceeds left over will go to our annual Christmas Party.
On-Course Treats:
A Goody Bag treat for all players starting out on the day including a delicious Burger & Drinks at the Halfway House to keep you fueled.
Post-Golf Social:
The Golf Club Bar opens at 3pm — perfect for reliving the day’s highlights (or near-misses!). Golf Club Member prices all afternoon and night!!
Captains’ Dinner & Presentation of Prizes:
Meet for pre-dinner drinks upstairs in Gulliver’s Suite from 6.30pm.
Captain’s 3-Course A-La-Carte Dinner begins at 7:15pm sharp.
Presentation of Captain’s Day prizes from 8pm.
Members discount on all alcoholic drinks.
Live Music & Dancing:
The brilliant Roughwater Band are live on stage at 10pm, followed by the cool beats of DJ Jessie who will be spinning from midnight onwards.
The Men’s Club subsidised cost to Members for Golf including 3-Course Dinner and Entertainment on the night is €25. The cost for members spouses, partners & friends is €30.
