The Knightsbrook Ladies’ Golf Club committee hosted its annual fundraising table quiz in the clubhouse last Friday, drawing a large, enthusiastic crowd. Main sponsor Gerald Reilly was acknowledged throughout the evening, and quizmaster Will Murray kept proceedings lively with a wide-ranging and occasionally tricky question set.
Rounds covered general knowledge and celebrity families — from the Simpsons to the Beckhams — and included several surprises, notably a question asserting that Co. Fermanagh is the most westerly county in the UK. True to form, Will Murray slipped in a couple of questions about his fellow architect, Erno Rubik, the inventor of the Rubik’s Cube. Each round featured a golf-themed question, one of which was a reminder to members that they have three minutes to search for a lost golf ball.
Lay Captain Leslie Hamilton closed the evening by thanking Gerald Reilly and all other sponsors for making the event such a success. She also thanked Mr Peter Igoe and staff for facilitating the event. The 2025 champions successfully defended their title this year; the winning team included Lorraine Barry and Tony Croke, Mel Sweeney and Caroline Cronily. The quiz night continues to be a highly enjoyable social highlight of the golfing year and raises valuable funds for the ladies’ club.
