Knightsbrook marks 20 years with dawn scramble, weekly semi‑opens and 20th Anniversary classic

As Knightsbrook Golf Club celebrates its 20th anniversary, the Captains and Club Committees are inviting every member to join a year of special events designed to celebrate the club’s history, strengthen our community and welcome visitors to enjoy our course.

Captain’s message to members

“As we reach this milestone, we want to celebrate what makes Knightsbrook special — great golf, great company and a strong sense of community. We have planned events for to celebrate our 20th year and encourage members to play, bring friends or family, and help us make this anniversary year one to remember.”

Key events announced by the Committees

Saturday 9 May 2026 — Knightsbrook Golf at Dawn (Pieta Darkness into Light) The celebration season opens with a charity dawn scramble supporting Pieta. Players will gather at 4:45am for a 5:00 am shotgun start in a four‑person scramble format. Entry is €35 per person and includes breakfast. This early‑morning event is a chance to support an important cause while enjoying a memorable start to the season — members can book through BRS and visitors via the golf shop. This event will support Pieta House which does invaluable work to support those with mental health issues. This charity is of special personal significance to our Captain Tom and our esteemed member, Susan Cullen, as she explains, “on the 21st August 2025, our word changed forever, we lost our beautiful nephew, Tristan at only 17 years of age. His life had only begun; he is missed every day, losing him shattered us beyond belief. Tristan was a loving, vibrant soul who carried so much strength even in silence. People often think we’ve “survived” because we look okay- but those of us grieving a suicide learn to survive in minutes, hours and days, one at a time. In conjunction with Pieta House, we are hoping to raise much-needed funds. Pieta House helped my brother and his family greatly when they lost their son, Tristan and they will be forever thankful for the professional help they received in their darkest of days. We would be honoured to give back to Pieta House in Tristain’s memory. We encourage everyone to join us bright and early on Saturday 9th May, for an early morning round of golf and support Pieta House’s Darkness Into Light programme. We are grateful for all your support”.  (Susan Cullen & Family)

Entry is just €5 for members (€25 for visitors), offering an accessible format to play, practice and socialise during the week.

Friday 28 August 2026 — Knightsbrook Golf Classic — Celebrating 20 Years

The centrepiece event of the 20th anniversary year is the Knightsbrook Golf Classic, a four‑person scramble on Friday, 28 August. Teams can enter for €240 per team, with the day followed by a social evening of live music, food and prizegiving. Additional fun includes a “Beat the Pro” challenge on the 18th for a small entry. Timesheets are open on BRS and the golf shop will handle queries and visitor entries.

These events are about more than trophies — they are opportunities to reconnect with old friends, welcome new members, raise funds for worthwhile causes and showcase the spirit of Knightsbrook. Formats have been chosen to suit serious competitors and social players alike.
