There was a large turnout for the annual Captains’ Drive-In at Knightsbrook Golf Club on Sunday, March 22nd. Captains, Thomas Conaty and Leslie Hamilton were joined by President Liam Grant, Vice Captains, Owen Ganly and Elaine Doyle and a large number of members as they arrived in a very large truck, provided by Gael Form for the occasion. Both captains were dwarfed by the huge truck, which created quite a stir as it made its entrance to the first tee drive-in the 20th since 2006 when the late Oliver Perkins and Ms Fionuala Byrne did the honours. Both captains wished the members a successful golfing year at the social gathering, meal and presentations in the Terrace Lounge following the 9 hole scramble. They asked members to support the Darkness into Light special event on May 9th to raise funds for Pieta House, the mid- week semi opens beginning in April, and the special 20th Anniversary golf classic on August 28th.
