Regretfully our Barton Cup team suffered a blow this evening (Sunday) against Carton House, recording a result of 3.5 to 1.5. The quality of golf played was of a very high standard in difficult conditions, even birdie holes were lost to eagles! All members of the team gave a good account of themselves and this experience will stand to the team in future competitions. The team consisted of Frank Leonard, John Rankin, Seamus Ennis, Shaun McGinley, Damian Burke, Mark Dowdall, Colin Rayfus, Liam Lynch, Simon Magnier and Shane Wilson. All team members acknowledged the contribution from team manager Colin McAllister, for all the time and effort he put into the event. This did not go unnoticed by all involved. Thanks Colin! Looking forward to 2012 already… Thanks also to the many club members who supported the team today, it was much appreciated.
