While the rain abated for most of the day, the wind was unrelenting as members took on the challenging conditions to play in the Knightsbrook Golf Club Annual Christmas Charity Day, dinner and presentations to celebrate the end of the golfing year. Captain Alan Codd presented the Club Person of the Year award to a shocked, Francis O Donoghue. The Treasurer, Owen Ganley presented a Cheque for €500, proceeds from a collection from members, to the Captain for Trim Meals on Wheels.

A variety of hampers, monthly medals and club matchplay presentation were made. Colin Rayfus received the Golfer of the Year Award. Both captains thanked their committees for their dedication during a very successful golfing year in 2023. Deceased members were remembered also and Marie and Alan wished incoming committees every success in 2024. Peter Whelan won the Christmas Jumper competition followed closely by Bernie McCormack who dressed up as a Christmas tree.
