18th August, 2017

Our Captains Prize competition starts this weekend and promises to be a fantastic 36 Hole Strokeplay competition. Everyone in Knightsbrook GC would like to wish Captain Mr Seamus Lanney very best wishes on his day and we hope all of our member’s turnout in big numbers, support and most importantly enjoy the competition, Captains dinner and presentation.

Schedule for the Captains Prize Competition is as follows:

  • The competition on both days will be Single Strokes off the White Tees.
  • As this is a 36 Hole competition, all handicap adjustments will take place over the 36 holes (i.e. players will play off the same handicap on both days).
  • The Captains Prize will take place over 2 days. Day one will take place on Sunday August 20th with Day 2 on Saturday August 26th. The top 60+ties on Day one will qualify to compete on the second day for the Captains Prize.
  • There will be a competition for non-qualifiers on day 2 in advance of the qualifier competition.
  • To qualify for the day 2, members must have submitted cards in 3 qualifying competitions.
  • On Day 2 Qualifiers will go out in reverse order starting at around 11:30am.
  • The Captains dinner along with the presentation will take place on Saturday evening August 26th at 8:30pm.
  • The cost to members will be €35 which will include 2 days Golf, Burger on Day 2 and the Captains dinner.

·        If a member is bringing a guest to the meal, then the cost for both member and guest will be €60.

  • The draw for Day 1 is currently online. Please note that once the draw is made the timesheet is fixed and final. Any member wishing to change their time allocated must first have permission from the Competitions and Handicap Secretary.
